Meag decided to do some painting in our house today to celebrate Labor Day. I have done a lot of painting in my life, I have painted a number of houses outside and inside. I have told Meag time and time again that I wouldn't help her if she wanted to paint our house. I always would tell her it looks fine the way it is.
She talked me into going down to Lowes and picking out some paint and getting some simple supplies for her to paint with. While we were picking out supplies I noticed the Wagner Paint rollers. The first thing I thought to myself was..."man...I could have used one of those when I did all that painting back in the day." So I suggested that we look into getting one of the Wagner products to Meag. We decided on the "Spray Tech Roll Fast Plus".

Once we got home I remained downstairs watching the kids while Meag went upstairs to paint the ceilings of all the rooms. She came down complaining about how heavy it was for her to use for the ceiling and that it would be much easier to use on a wall since she wouldn't have to hold it above her head a lot. I decided to go upstairs and help her out. Once I began using that Wagner painter I couldn't put it down. I had the ceilings of all of our rooms finished about 1 hour quicker than if I had to do it the old fashion way. I can't believe I got into it so much. If you hate painting then you need to muster up enough testicular fortitude and go down to Lowe's and buy yourself one of these. They are amazingly addicting to use, and fun. Next weekend we are tackling the walls.
Spray Tech Roll Fast Plus
Pro's
- Addicting
- 16 foot tubing allows you to paint multiple areas without moving the base unit
- Comes with an extension and other brushes which come in handy for corner and edge painting.
- Works with 1 gallon and 5 gallon paint buckets.
- Much quicker to paint with
- Don't have to mess with dipping the roller which avoids a big mess
- Cleaning the tubing is quick...It really does only take 5 minutes (like it says on the box) to rinse out the tubing
- It's such a good product it makes me paint...now that's saying something!
Con's
- Price
- Heavy when painting ceilings
- Cleaning is time consuming
- Learning how long to allow the paint to flow takes time...start in a room that you don't use as much.
- You have to push the button twice, once to start and once to stop the paint from flowing. It seems like a simple push and hold would have done just fine.
